Vinton Opposes EDA Plan in County Health Board Action
The Vinton County General Health District Advisory Council voted to oppose the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency moving to take over home sewage disposal systems and solid waste programs. The decision came after sanitarian Fred Weaver reported on state efforts and Dr. Allan Baldwin outlined county health activities. The council appointed Dr. Donald Barton to the board of health for a term to 1978 and elected Wilner Brown president Wallace Eberts vice president and Carl Sowers secretary.

Ownership Change Sought for Friendly Tavern Permit
An application to transfer the D5 liquor permit for the Friendly Tavern at 104 W. Columbus St. is pending with the Ohio Department of Liquor Control. The permit would allow a nightclub operation serving beer wine and spirits until 2 30 a m. The ownership transfer is from James and Iris Dotson to Edna Adams.

Members of Group 10 Camp Fire Girls from Nelsonville visited Byrd Arena at Ohio University for an ice skating party.
