Sisters kidnapped not runaways by family acquaintance
In Vestal New York two teenage sisters 15 year old Ky Lea Fortner and 13 year old Shaeleen Fitch Fortner were found safe after a tip led to their rescue. A 29 year old man Aman da Hellman is jailed on kidnapping charges and the girls mother Cindy Fortner 36 faces aiding and abetting charges. Prosecutors say the pair helped arrange the girls abduction and non return to their foster home. Authorities credited extensive state police investigations with tracking the girls for 11 months and securing their return to protective custody.

Longtime Nelsonville resident Mari Frances Carter dies at 84
Mari Frances Morris Carter of Venice Florida died Wednesday March 9 after an extended illness. Born September 1 1931 in Nelsonville Ohio she attended Nelsonville High and married Ned Carter in 1952. She was active in church music square dancing Cub Scouts and genealogy and leaves four children fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is survived by Ned Carter and her children Carolyn Nelsonville Virginia Nelsonville Keith Heath and Richard. She was preceded by her parents siblings and several in laws. Funeral details not listed.
