Judge rules on pretrial motions in Mills Koker case
Judge Patrick Lang ruled on eight pretrial motions filed by defense attorney Andrew Stevenson for Taylor Mills, charged with the December shooting death of Tim Koker at The Mine Tavern in Athens County. Some items labeled as motions required no court action, while Stevenson's request to bar parties from discussing the case with Mills was denied. The judge also denied a bid to compel preservation and cataloging of evidence, noting no need to order the state to act beyond its constitutional duties. See the ruling on page A6.
