Schick tests will be given throughout Athens county starting today for immunization of school children against diphtheria. Dr. Mahoney from the State Health department is in Athens to conduct the tests and it will take about four weeks to complete the countywide effort. In the past two years 3,513 Athens county children have been immunized and only ten diphtheria cases were reported last year, attributed to these tests. Parents are urged to sign the school permission slips.
