Young Baird Fell To Death In Bridge Accident
John Baird aged about 20 died in Buffalo when he fell from a bridge under construction while wheeling ties. His father Waldo Baird of Canaanville traveled from Ohio after telegram news and arrangements were made to ship the body home for burial. Willian Somer died about 8 am Tuesday at his North Congress street home after a short illness caused by renewed liver trouble. He was 55 and long-time Athens resident working as a brickmason and skilled mechanic. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 am at the Washington street residence of Mr and Mrs Jesse Warren, with Rev. G Watson King of the Presbyterian church officiating.
