Athens Debates Five Year Electrification Plan And Ice Plant
The Athens City Council endorsed private lighting by Athens Artificial Ice & Electric Co with a five year contract option. The bid covers 38 arc lights at varying rates for midnight or all night service and allows relocation at city expense. A special meeting will decide which proposal to implement. Nelsonville February report shows Ed Mahaffey of Buchtel cleared after witnesses place him boarding a moving train when the first shots fired. Jury-like testimony notes a melee with Lockhart, but no weapon seen on Mahaffey and the case halted before grand jury action. Lockhart’s funeral Friday held at the Baptist church with large attendance.

John Brandan a brakeman on the B. and O. suffered severe ankle injuries Friday after slipping on an icy box car near Luhrig. He jumped to the frozen ground below to escape, was taken to Athens for medical care, then sent home to Chillicothe.

Death of J. M. Davis Near Lysander
J M Davis died Saturday at his home near Lysander from consumption. He was about forty and had long been in ill health. He leaves a wife two children a brother Thomas Davis and five sisters Mrs Louise Mansfield Mrs Nanna Bobo Lorinda Lizzie and Dad Davis. Funeral held Monday at South Canaan with interment conducted by Rev Willis.

The body of Ed Lockhart, killed Tuesday night at the Nelsonville depot, was brought to Athens and taken to W A Hibbard's undertaking establishment. Many viewed the remains on Thursday. One bullet was found to have struck Lockhart's body.

The Coolville Epworth League hosted a Martha Washington tea at Mr and Mrs B White’s home Saturday evening. The dining room used the millinery shop with decorations in nations colors and evergreens. Bachelor Found Dead At His Home
Trimble Feb. 25 John Burley about 60 was found dead in his home here this afternoon. He had not been seen for several days and neighbor George Well went to the house to investigate. He had suffered epilepsy and had been a patient at the Athens state hospital. A sister who kept house for him left six weeks ago for Michigan. Deceased had two brothers living at Floodwood who have been notified.

Death of F P Dell in Sandusky
The death of Frank P Dell occurred Sunday at his Sandusky home from cardiac asthma after a long illness. The remains were moved to the Dell residence on North Congress Street and funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Rev W D Cherrington officiating. Interment was in the new cemetery. He was 66, a long-time Sandusky resident, and leaves a wife who accompanied the remains. He is survived by siblings Mrs Emma Geren and Thmas Dell of Athens.
