Nelsonville officials issued emergency orders to curb water use including halting automatic sprinklers and lawn watering. Water should be drawn by hand from 7 to 7:30 each evening, with police enforcing compliance amid a strained hill-top reservoir and ongoing 24 hour pumping. Mayor Hickman warned of a possible shortage if waste continues.
Luther Berry of Nelsonville was fined 190 dollars and costs and received a six month driving suspension after pleading guilty to operating an automobile while intoxicated. He was arrested on Poplar Street Sunday night by Police Chief George Bateman. In a separate case F. J. Sauters pleaded not guilty to carrying concealed weapons and was held to the Grand Jury.
The affidavit was filed by George Oliver. W. H. Bennett pleaded guilty to an intoxication charge upon arraignment last night and was fined $5 and costs.
Sayre Specials triumphed over Nelsonville Buckeyes 19 to 9 in a Sunday game at Buchtel. Nelsonville’s Norman and Woodson faced Elkins, Freeman, and Phillips of Buchtel as both sides struggled with errors. Rematch set for Friday June 27 on Nelsonville grounds.
Mrs. M. Spangler of Zanesville and Carlos McQuaid with Mrs. CC Denner and son Richard Denner joined four generations of the Bowen family for a reunion with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bowen in Murray City. Candy and Miss Emma Johnson returned from a visit with friends in Columbus.
Nelsonville June 24 Local fans expect a real contest Wednesday evening when Dr Walker s Old Timers Buehtel face a Millfield team led by pitcher Sam Withem former Columbus Senator The rivalry between the clubs has grown this season and the Old Timers remain a strong drawing card in the area.

Funeral services for Columbus Mc Coy aged 68 who died Sunday at his Murray City home will be held at the U B Church Murray City on Wednesday at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Greentown.
Myrtle Thomas 44 of Circle Hill died Monday evening at home. Funeral services Thursday at 10 30 AM at Pilgrim Holiness Church conducted by Rev. C. P. Prid with burial at Green Lawn. Her husband Arthur Thomas died seven years ago and she left several children.
