Glenford in Perry County hosts its annual truck and tractor pulls at Shelly Park with events on June 20 July 11 and August 1. Sheriff cruiser involved in McArthur crash injures deputy
A Vinton County deputy, Michelle Thomas, was injured when her cruiser collided with a 1995 Chevy 10 truck driven by Daniel Miracle of McArthur. The cruiser overturned. Thomas was hospitalized with incapacitating injuries. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected. The crash remains under investigation by the State Highway Patrol and outside agency review is planned.

Rape case sent back to trial court on appeal
A 4th District Court of Appeals panel reversed Alan Brigner's 2012 six count rape case after finding he was not advised of a mandatory prison term that would bar community control. The case returns to Athens County Common Pleas Court for bond hearing, pre trial, and potential trial. Brigner, 36, is imprisoned at Chillicothe Correctional Institution.
