Senate Bill Would OK City University Land Swap in Athens

Ohio Senator Oakley Collins forwarded a measure to the Senate committee to swap more than five acres of Ohio University land in the East End for about 25 acres of city stadium property. The plan, supported by OU officials, would move to the judiciary committee and then the House for action. The city would use the East End land for recreation and a new fire sub station while Route 33 bypass land and barracks area portions are involved.
