China accuses Soviets of border invasion in Sinkiang

Peking charges Soviet troops crossed into Yumin County Sinkiang provinces provoking Chinese frontier guards. A Chinese herdswoman was killed and a herdsman kidnapped as tanks and armored cars were reported sent into border areas. Beijing demanded an immediate halt and warned of severe consequences. The Soviet government had no comment.

Nixon bids pace Hanoi response on Vietnam pullout

Washington waits for Hanoi reply to President Nixon’s plan for a simultaneous troop withdrawal with South Vietnam. Survivors charged with setting fire in family tragedy

In Parkersburg West Virginia Susan 15 and Roger 13 Bailey face murder charges for a predawn house fire that killed their parents and 10 siblings.
