Sunday witnessed the largest Knights of Pythias parade in Athens with an estimated eight hundred to one thousand knights, bands from Nelsonville and Murray City, excursions by rail, and memorial services at the college auditorium despite a sudden rainstorm shortening cemetery ceremonies. Highway Robbery Near Athens Leads to Arrests
William Bricker eighteen and Fred Preston seventeen of Beaumont were arrested this week on highway robbery charges filed by John Buff of Athens. They allegedly held Buff near a church west of Athens Sunday afternoon and stole eight dollars. Preston surrendered Monday after a brief confrontation with Marshal Finsterwald. Bricker escaped to Lancaster but later surrendered. The case proceeds toward a November convening.

Boy Killed by Colt Kick near Athene
George M Dixon aged 13 was kicked by a colt at his brother in law James Millican's home Sunday morning. He remained unconscious for hours before dying. The accident occurred at the Millican residence. His body was moved to Athens on Monday and funeral services were held at Bates church on Tuesday with interment.
