Commissioners to discuss Wayne National Forest leasing issue
Athens County commissioners will host a public meeting to discuss leasing Wayne National Forest land for oil and gas development. Fracking Action Network members urge the forest supervisor to oppose a Bureau of Land Management proposed lease of about 18 000 acres in the Marietta Unit. In Monroe Noble and Washington Counties, BLM has received over 50 expressions of interest. meeting set for June 28 at 7 p.m. in Athens.

Brothers arrested on robbery warrants
Two brothers Blake Mitchell, 32, and Errett Mitchell, 34, were arrested in Amesville on robbery warrants after a high speed chase case.
