C. & O. Land Grant Ordinance Delayed by Council at Pomeroy

POMEROY June 7 The village council again delayed passage of the ordinance to grant land to the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Company for the depot site. The measure was referred to the ordinance committee for conference with Judge F W Crow, counsel for the railroad.

Serious Auto Mishap Injures Mrs. Margaret Skinner Hurd

Dr. Skinner, former pastor at the Presbyterian Church in Middleport, reports his daughter Mrs. Margaret Skinner Hurd was injured in Indianapolis when her car hit a filling station. She suffers a broken right ankle skull fracture and other injuries and has been unconscious. The wreck delays Dr. Skinner’s trip home until her condition improves.

No Flour Arrives In Pomeroy As Supply Exhausts

POMEROY June 7 Flour was not distributed today because local supply was exhausted last week. Mrs Mayme J Heiner fed Gross secretary said a carload for Meigs County started from Kansas mid last week but has not yet arrived. No Robbers Open Transom Light Mystery in Racine Store

In Racine on Sunday night an open transom and a flitting light prompted CrossCo workers to fear burglars were inside. Sheriff Tracy and deputies from Pomeroy investigated but found no robbers and no missing money or goods. The transom was reported to be closed when the store was left, and the light sighting remains unexplained.
