Bewildered 77 year old man killed by railroad train
Hiram Armitage, aged 77, was struck by a labor train near Hocking station in heavy rain while crossing tracks. He sustained a base skull fracture and died shortly after at his son’s home. engineer Shhaefer attempted to stop the train but could not prevent the tragedy.

Narrow Escape With Mules Spooks Local Driver
A pair of mules driven by Mr. James Holand bolted Monday afternoon at a bicycle and ran away. Holand was thrown to the ground as a wagon wheel passed over his leg but he escaped with no serious injuries. Elsa Gabriel of Columbus visited Mr. and Mrs. Eber Gebriei over Sunday.
