In Nelsonville on a Monday afternoon Miss Eva Nutter, dining room girl at the Primrose Hotel, was accidentally shot by J. W. Smith one of the hotel proprietors. The wound is dangerous and may prove fatal. A Flobert rifle was used by hotel staff to shoot at rats in the basement area.

The death of an Patten one, pioneer of the township, occurred at his home this place on the 20th at o'clock A. M. at the age of seven years. He had suffered heart disease for several years, the immediate cause of death. He leaves four children, two sons and two daughters. His funeral was largely attended on the 2nd. Rev.
