New Presbyterian Church Dedicated in Athens Ohio
The First Presbyterian Church of Athens Ohio was completed at a cost of about 45 000 and dedicated debt free. Rev G Walton King led the service as the steel gray brick structure with quarter sawn oak interior and a large pipe organ was described as a monument to Presbyterianism reflecting a century of growth.

The Athens farmers institute finished in the court room with large attendance and strong programs over two days. Highlights included talks on small things in farming, shortcuts, hog raising, potato culture, and the centralization of common schools. Officers elected for the next year were G. W. Hoover president and S. F. Beverage vice president amid valued sessions and music throughout.

Pallas Club Hosts Seasonal Reception at Mrs Henry’s Home
Members of the Pallas club held a reception for invited guests at Mrs H D Henry's College street home. Twelve month representations in costume greeted guests while harp and violin provided music and a chocolate table featured in a decorated dining room. A guessing game of the receiving line produced a tied prize of carnations for Mrs J P Wood and Mrs Sayre.

Christian Church Expands Facilities and Furnishings
Improvements totaling six hundred dollars have just been completed at the Christian church. The organ is new and the choir loft enlarged with new chairs, a front of scroll work added. One hundred praise hymnals and new dailies and linen for the communion service have been purchased. The church reports prosperity and membership increases.
