Body Found on River Bank Inmate From Pike County
The body of William Smith, a 34 year old inmate of Athens state hospital, was found half buried in sand along the north bank of the Hocking river after being missing since January 8. His father James Smith of Pike County was notified and authorities prepared the body for shipment home. Addison Edgar discovered the corpse while sand hauling and police took the body to Wells undertaking. The incident ends an intensive search by hospital officials and family.

Death of Mrs Catherine Link in Athens
Mrs. Catherine Link died Saturday noon at her home opposite the state hospital park on Richland avenue. She was one of Athens oldest residents, born in Germany seventy years ago and came to America young. Survived by husband George and three sons Henry Rose and Edward and Otto. daughter also lived with family. Funeral Tuesday at the Catholic church with Father J B Mattingly officiating. Interment in Catholic cemetery.

In Glouster on Thursday noon Tommy Dupler 14 was shot in the neck with a .22 revolver by his companion Tom Mavin 16. The weapon belonged to Dupler and a scuffle over it led Mavin to discharge. The bullet was removed by doctors Crawford and Allen and Dupler returned to school Monday.

Death of Longtime Canaan Township Farmer John Robinson
John Robinson, a respected Canaan township farmer, died Friday evening at his Clark's Chapel home after a short pneumonia illness. Aged about T1, he leaves a wife, four sons, and a daughter. Funeral services were held Sunday at Clark's Chapel with Rev. W. D. Cherrington. burial followed in the local cemetery.
