Marriages of Unequal Ages Questioned by Courts
Fragmentary editorial notes discuss the complexities of marriages with large age gaps. The piece notes that, while rare, such unions raise questions of consent and social perception, with comments on aging norms for men and women and the impact of health and vitality on perceived youth.
Age disparity in marriage and its long view
The passage argues that age gaps of seven to twenty years can exist within marriages without harming harmony. It notes men may pair with younger women, especially in second marriages, but emphasizes marriage as a life-long, sacramental bond. The article suggests the wife often should be younger, citing social norms and practical comforts.
