Death of Chester Woodworth Pioneer of Dover Township
Chester Woodworth a Dover township pioneer dies at his home after years of chronic lung illness. Born August 18, 1837, he built a fortune in mineral lands, helped the poor, and led a long career in boot and shoe work before investing in Dover and Trimble townships. Funeral held in the new church, with interment in Nye cemetery. Survived by wife Minerva Pratt and daughter Mrs. L. D. Henry.

Beet McLaughlin aged 11 died after a coal train ride with three companions. He fell under moving cars between Logan and the coal line, losing both legs and an arm and suffering internal injuries. He died after several hours. Funeral services were held Saturday with burial at Green Lawn.
