Youth Burns From Flying Model Plane in Athens County
Christopher Weidner fourteen son of Mr and Mrs Donald Weidner Athens Route 5 is treated for second and third degree burns at O Bleness Memorial Hospital after a model airplane wire contact ignited his clothing Sunday at the Alexander High School parking lot. His brother Mark and father accompanied them. the plane touched Ohio Power Co wires and electricity passed to the youth. The father a state highway patrolman performed mouth to mouth resuscitation and the boy is listed in satisfactory condition.

Four Drivers Deny Patrol Charges In Ohio Court
Four drivers charged by the Ohio Highway Patrol with driving while intoxicated pleaded innocent in Athens Municipal Court. Two sought jury trials. Edward Jolley and Thomas Hudwell had trials set for December 17. Others faced fines or further actions for assorted charges and violations.
