Top grades include Elizabeth Smith and Ralph Poston in eighth grade arithmetic, Helen Allen in seventh and eighth grade English, Dorothy Krumilauf in ninth grade Latin, Luther Heyde in ninth grade algebra, Robert Lanning in ninth grade science, Thelma Johnson in ninth grade English, Dolores Lee Latin II English II, Lillian Kemper chemistry, Willard Richards physics, Ray Collison English III, Rose Saunders English IV, Bruce Price plane geometry.
High school and grade pupils at Union Furnace are arranging a joint Christmas program for the afternoon of December 2. Logan residents James Barker and Ronald Rheinscheid attended the Ohio State University fruit school in Columbus this week. Marriage licenses issued include Lewis Sherman Stewart, miner from West Logan, and Minnie Hatten, 20, also of West Logan. Magistrate B Whitehart officiated. Harry Kendall Swaim, clerk, Haydenville, and Sarah Alice Allen, 2nd at home, Haydenville, are listed as parties.
