Athens approves expansion of $901000 sewage plant
City officials say the Athens sewage treatment plant expansion, budgeted at 901000 dollars, should finish by late 1966. An HEW inspector praised progress after a visit last Friday, finding two minor nonconstruction flaws. Federal funds totaling about 263000 dollars cover roughly 30 percent of costs, with 107000 expected this winter. The plant will more than double in size and nearly triple its capacity from about 2.75 million gallons daily.
