Water Battles energize Nelsonville firefighters festivity
Six area fire departments from Nelsonville The Plains Richland Area Good Hope Two Hocking County and Jacksonville plus a mixed team competed in Water Battles part of Parade of the Hills in the VFW lot. Events included Agility Course Tug of War and Water Brigade plus Hose Battle with teams of six and one solo run. Captain Jeff Armes said the revival after a 16 year break drew strong community support and sponsors.

County to pitch $150000 toward LIGHTS program
