Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus will stage a centennial celebration next Tuesday for four prisoners labeled as guests of the management. The program includes eight boxing bouts and a motion picture show, with only essential work performed. Warden Preston E. Thomas announced the event will be double billed so all inmates can watch.

Dayton August 17 Thomas Flynn telegraph operator for Erie Railroad was held for questioning in the fatal shooting of James J. Montgomery yardmaster in his office last night. Flynn allegedly confessed the motive was a grudge over a woman and admitted the crime when arrested though he was said to be under the influence of liquor, delaying further questioning until noon.

Joseph Bundy aged 30 of Stockport was injured at a sawmill near Amesville. He was taken to Sheltering Arms Hospital this morning and later transferred to St. Frances Hospital in Columbus.
John H S Labatt aged 55 wealthy London brewer returned to his home after 65 hours in captivity. A $150 000 ransom was not paid as Canadian police including the Royal Mounted closed in on the abductors. Labatt was kept blindfolded and uninjured though in a nervous state. He was released before dawn on the outskirts of Toronto and went to his brother Hugh Labatt's hotel.
In San Jose California on August 17 19 year old Bernice Beauchamp Pickrell admitted at a coroner inquest that she shot and killed her rancher father Robert Beauchamp 65 during a drinking party because she was afraid of him The father was found shot to death earlier the authorities had suspected a suicide before the confession.
Cincinnati August 17. A warrant charges Otto Bobe 27 a mechanic with petit larceny. Frederick Hall alleged Hall came to his home to collect a debt and when told no money, Bobe seized Hall's gold rimmed glasses as security.
