Community counts on visits and visits back with relatives and friends in Athens Coolville and Nelsonville. Residents attend church Grange meetings and camp plans while several relatives travel between Coolville Parkersburg and Murray City.
Clarr Wallace of Nelsonville and Ray Gardner of Chauncey visited relatives here last week. Donald Learned of Toledo returned home Thursday after visiting grandparents. Dr. Learned brothers in Michigan and M. Johnson of Trimble were visitors Thursday. Several locals, including Mr. and Mrs. Robert Love and Patience Oldroyd, hosted and attended events. Ice cream supper scheduled on school ground Thursday evening. all invited.
J and S P Hill and Hlingenberg family visited their daughter Mrs Ea Barke at Afodoc over the weekend. Misses Katie Klingenberg and Mable Byle attended the Stewart ice cream supper Saturday night and found it enjoyable. Mrs Leroy Nickison and Miss Bella Ghalfant visited the Ladwick family near Stewart. The rain is improving the corn. St John’s Catholic church will hold preaching next Sunday and there is a Sunday night service scheduled.

Dowler family members from Nelsonville Sands Shury West Virginia and Wiseburg attended services and visited Wm Dowler and family. Charley McKnabb funeral was noted as a survivor of a scald incident. Charles Dowler Mrs Dowler and Mrs Hews visited the family and services were held at Dowler Chapel.
Sunday August 9 the K M Ry offers a round trip to Columbus from Athens for 91 00. Train departs Athens at 3 45 a m and returns from Columbus at 5 25 p m. The note references Oyster Bay and President with Danville neighbors amid a lynching event.

The General Assembly of the State of Ohio proposes an amendment to Section 2 of the constitution to tax for state and local purposes with exemptions for certain property. A voting option on the amendment will appear on the ballot as Tasation amendment Yes or No. The amendment takes effect January 1, 1904.
