Frank Williams aged about 42 was killed at his Willow Crees farm when a runaway hay load dragged him across a steep hillside. His skull was fractured and he died within hours. He left a wife and four children. funeral held at Graham's Chapel conducted by Rev Bonguard.
Charles Radcliff grows a genseng patch on three acres near Bolen Mills after health issues left him unable to farm normally. He started the project three years ago after reading about genseng in New York, planting on shaded virgin soil. Roots fetch up to five dollars a pound dry, with future harvests expected to reach several hundred pounds. land for genseng can yield 3206 to ten dollars per acre but is often unsuitable for other crops.
The board of trustees through the water works superintendent issued a notice to water consumers warning that past month pumping averaged 500,000 gallons daily. With 3,000 users, this equals about 250 gallons per person, far above necessary use. Officials blame hydrant running, street and lawn watering, and other abuses. Enforcement to begin after the Sept. notice.

The case of Mrs Deanzo wife of Bardine Deaner Show proprietor against Oscar A Tanner before Justice E T Rose ended with a verdict for the plaintiff. Tanner had a writ of attachment on the private car of the show people, but Mrs Deanzo proved the car was her personal property.
The village council met Tuesday night and authorized advertising for bids on 159,000 municipal bonds to fund a section of the electric light plant. T. J. Morris, paid for cemetery care, was fired for alleged neglect. Aquilla Stevens hired at 350 a year, paid quarterly.
J H Cline bought the Dana block housing Cline's Pharmacy and Preston's dry goods from W B Lawrence for 15 325 pounds. Remodeling will start immediately with an architect. plans include a new front for bedrooms across both stories, a rebuilt second floor finished in hardwood, and a rear extension possibly two stories high.

Ziba Schoonover died at his late residence Wednesday after months of illness. He was the last of his family save Mrs. Joseph Howart, spent most of his life here, and his funeral was held at home with Rev. L. G. Matheny officiating. Interment followed at Nye cemetery. Estimates suggest about 30,000,000 feet of pine timber in Minneota will be mined and marketed within the next fifteen years.
Miss Minnie Roach daughter of R W Roach returns from two years in government service as a teacher in the Philippine Islands. She describes primitive to improved school facilities, notes Filipino youth reluctance to learn English, and says she will not return due to climate.
A field of thirteen beef cattle averaging 1200 pounds each was found dead under a hickory tree on O. W. Bean's farm west of Kimberly. Decomposition was advanced, suggesting death in a recent thunderstorm. Loss estimated at 3600 with no insurance.

A J Hawk of Marietta are superintendents. leaders include Ray E Miller of Chicago Rev Herbert Scott of Marietta Miss Kate B Hutcheron of Columbus and Mr Mary White of Coolville.
Dr E B Morrison has been chosen as assistant physician at the Ohio hospital for epileptics in Gallipolis and left Monday to assume duties. He was admitted to practice in 1881 and practiced years in Marietta. Mrs Morrison will join him at the hospital in a few weeks.
Mr James Pratt and Miss Stella Cornell were married at Rev L G Matheny s residence on Sunday July 26 at noon in Chauncey. The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs James Pratt of Pressantor and works in merchandising at Chauncey. The bride is the daughter of Capt and Mrs W Cordell of Chauncey. they will reside in Chauncey.
