Dr. H. E. Baker returned this week from the Philippine Islands where he spent a year with the U S sanitary department in and around Manila. He praises improvements in health and civil administration while noting islands are not yet ready for self government. He is son of H. L. Donnelly's Costly Drive Ends in Fines
H A Donnelly, an Athens state hospital attendant, hired a horse and buggy and tried a fast trip to Jacksonville. A liveryman reported the attempt, and officer Stewart arrested him on arrival. Donnelly paid $8.95 costs and $32.50 to damages for the buggy and horse, the case dismissed after repayment.

Fulton Prize Cabbage Grown Near Harmony Exhibited
Joseph Fulton, living three miles east of Athens, produced the prize Early Flat Dutch cabbage. It measured three feet five inches in circumference and weighed twelve and a half pounds. Transplanted in early April, the large head was grown in fertilized clay soil and pulled Monday for exhibition in Athens.

Ten Barrel Well Struck Near Canaanville
