At Chauncey Dover Days parade and pageant the 15 year old Mackenzie Whiteman of McArthur was named Queen, succeeding Hannah Tolliver of New Lexington who praised the experience after traveling over 3,400 miles in the past year. Autumn Johnson, 12, of Meena, won Junior Miss with first attendant Tomi of McArthur and second attendant Alexis Parageon of Rock. Skylen Jones, 5, of Crooks, captured Little Miss with first attendant Janna Gwen Dunfee of New Marshfield and second attendant Emiline O’Neil of Nelsonville. Fourteen regional winners attended the celebration and shared in festival camaraderie.

Backpack giveaway boosts Southeast Ohio students
Hundreds of parents and children queued at Trimble High School Nelsonville Public Square and the University Estates Boulevard site in Athens for the Jason Reed Foundation backpack and school supplies event now in its fourth year.
