Logan high school to host the fifth annual FHA Style Show this Thursday at 7 30 p m in the auditorium. Mrs Roy Shelso directs with assistance from Mrs William Saling both vocational-education teachers. A rose ceremony will honor each senior FHA mother and 500 plus attend in prior years.
Logan City Recreation Commission chairman Gene Morgan said he is arranging a Friday meeting for the commission. City council passed an ordinance appointing the recreation director post with an annual salary of 1800 dollars.
LOGAN The Community Action Program Committee met to revise its Poverty Program application after applying in January. The plan calls for chartering as a state corporation and forming a 32 member board reflecting area economic diversity. If approved, the committee can hire a full time poverty program director with federal funds to run youth, schools, city and county programs.
Logan delivery expected soon on a bituminous material spreader purchased April 15 by the Hocking County commissioners. The W. W. Williams Co. of Columbus won the contract for 6295 dollars. County engineer Clyde O. Underwood said the machine will aid the general road program and allow project work to proceed without new contracts for those tasks.
Mrs. Eleanore Horwell the Hocking County child welfare director and Mrs. Margaret Lowe will attend the Ohio County Welfare Directors Association spring workshop May 11-12 at Deshler-Cole Hotel in Columbus. They will join sessions on mental health cooperative planning for public assistance and child welfare and on severely abused children. General session is May 11 at 7 p.m. The Mets hold a 23 31 all time record against the Cubs in baseball.
