Honorary Mother Is Named for Ohio University Weekend
Mrs. Willis Kyle of Eldorado has been chosen as Ohio University’s honorary mother for the 1963 Mothers Weekend. The event draws thousands to Athens with visitors staying in dormitories and fraternity houses for activities including Dolphin Shows, a ROTC review, art sale, and football game. Mrs. Kyle is active in church and Sunday school, works part time at a grocery, bowls, and has served as president of the Association of Universalist Women.

Funeral for Eileen Stratton Gross Attended by Calif. Residents
Mrs Ruth Stratton and Mrs Audrey Cox returned from Canoga Park California after attending the funeral of Mrs Eileen Stratton Gross who died unexpectedly last Friday. Mrs Gross a former Athens resident worked in the clerk of courts title office. She was the daughter of the late A C Stratton and Mrs Ruth Stratton. She is survived by her husband Robert and three children.

The Athens Boat and Ski Club now lists 43 member families led by Commodore Howard Parsons. Fourteen new families joined after approval by the membership committee at a guest night. Vice Commodore Wilson Norris outlined cruises with Robert Mansfield as cruisemaster and Buckeye Lake as the first destination. Hockingport was chosen as club headquarters and new recreation plans were discussed. Ervin Mosier reported recent Ohio Water Ski Association loans for sight meters walkie talkies and life jackets.
