The state liquor commission announced restrictions on Sunday sales and deliveries of beer to chain stores and homes. Deliveries will be banned on Sundays, with exceptions only for certain whol esale distributors. The panel also outlined enforcement aims against the old-fashioned saloon and set permit rules for chain stores serving beer.

Proposals include Mort Plan style funding with minimum state aid per district or a $20 million to $40 million annual state contribution. Debate centers on state role and revenue sources, including a possible sales tax, and bond interest reductions to ease public school costs.
Federal agents arrested Jacob Krietz alias Kasvier Augustus Szpokas on the President Adams liner at Quarantine for false statements to obtain a passport. He carried $2500 in a money belt, and officials hint the case involves major government interests and possible foreign agent activity.

The survey suggests changing the institution name and notes a bill in the state Legislature proposing the name Rutherford B Hayes School.
NATCHEZ MISS APRIL 11 Captain Dix Barker a Mississippi steamboat man died today near his Tennessee Belle as she rode river swells at Natchez Under the Hill. He brought his packet into port Saturday and eased her to the wharf before friends carried him home to die. Barker was among the last of the river clan that made steamboating glamorous.
GOLOUSTER April 11. Mrs Elizabeth Gordon completed a laborious quilt project. The quilt features the state flower in a square for each state, with initials on corresponding squares, reflecting painstaking craftsmanship and unique style.
