Grosvenor Nominated by Ohio 11th District Republicans
The Republican convention for Ohio's 11th district met in the opera house to renominate General Grosvenor for Congress amid strong enthusiasm. Delegates from Athens Hocking Perry Meigs Ross and Vinton counties selected a committee to notify him, and prominent speakers including Albert Douglas Tom D Brnckeley and E P Brooks praised protectionist policies and Roosevelt's leadership. Journal Office Moves to Roach Building
The Athens Journal office was demolished and removed to the Roach building opposite the college campus. A new two story brick will replace the old structure with upper story for the Journal and lower for two business rooms. Completion is expected around September first. Mrs Bertha Holmes will host the next W C T U meeting at Congreg Street with a devotional service and symposium on state and national work.

Mysterious death of Mrs Cassell shocks town
Mrs Caroline Cassell died Sunday afternoon at her home near Central Avenue possibly from heart failure. Her husband James Cassell, distracted by news of his sister’s death, was nearby as she collapsed after dinner. No violence or suicide signs observed by the undertaker. Funeral held Tuesday conducted by James Qualle.

Cataract Operation Advancing in Columbrus Case
Mrs Henry Finsterwald of Canaan township was taken to Columbus for cataract removal. The surgeon found the first eye beyond saving and removed it. A cataract is growing in the other eye making a second operation necessary. There is hope the sight in the remaining eye can be saved.

Death of Mrs Crawford in Athens
Mrs. Mary E. Crawford died Friday at her home on State Street after a prolonged illness. She was 76 and had lived in Athens for many years. Funeral services were held Sunday at her residence conducted by Rev. Cyrus Rose. Interment followed in the new cemetery.

The Judicial convention for the seventh district comprising Athens Gallia Meigs Washington Vinton and Mesrae counties met in the opera house. Judge David W. Jones of Gallipolis was nominated for common pleas judge by acclamation after a motion to suspend rules. A committee notified him and escorted him to the stage where he thanked the convention for renomination to a second term.

Three Free Rural Mail Routes Planned From Coolville
Coolville officials announce three new rural mail routes to be established soon. Routes cover about twenty miles each to Tuppera Plains Vanderhoof and Lottridge. Brimstone Ridge toward Stewart. and a circuit to Cincinnati Ridge Torch Promierice and Doug lass Morrison’s, with carriers Albert Humphrey James Gunder and Charles Day named.

The remains of Mrs. HK. W. Erwin who died January 10 at her Bay City Michigan home were brought here yesterday and interred in the new cemetery. She was the widow of Dr. R. W. Erwin and daughter of Mrs Mary de Steigneur and Miss Emma Carpenter of State Street.
