Athens Loses Capt. W D O Farrell After Long Illness
Captain William D. O Farrell dies at 6 pm yesterday at his niece’s home on Prince Avenue after weeks of declining health. He will lie in state at the First Methodist Church this afternoon with Rev. M. L. Troutman and other clergy officiating. City officials and four former mayors are asked to attend the funeral at 4 pm. Athens Chamber of Commerce urges merchants to close during the service. He served as mayor and alderman, led Democratic ranks, supported education, and helped Athens over many decades. He leaves three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cooper Case Heard in Federal Court Here
The American National Bank of Nashville vs. J Clarence Cooper moved to trial in the U S court upstairs over the post office. After jurors were seated the plaintiff’s evidence was largely heard and the session adjourned to this morning. An injunction hearing earlier in the day in Earl G Whitehead vs M B Hudson and wife failed to grant a permanent injunction and the court dissolved the restraining order.

Mrs Elmina J King died at 224 Barrow street yesterday at about 12 30 from paralysis. She leaves two children a son H J King of this city and a daughter Mrs J N Dickerson Commerce two brothers and three sisters. Funeral and burial at Wilsons cemetery Jackson county. Death of Mrs. Lottie White in East Athens
Mrs. Lottie White died last night at seven after a long illness in East Athens a widow aged sixty five. She leaves several children including a daughter Mrs. Geo Hill and brothers and sisters. The funeral is planned for Wednesday morning with arrangements to be announced. She was highly regarded by many friends.

Little Babe Dies After Mother in Athens
