A late night crash on Lumpkin street near Baxter street involved E P Taylor driving an automobile with his sister Susie Taylor and a brother. The buggy struck a pedestrian family comprising a Negro woman and two children. the woman was bruised and shocked but not fatally hurt while the two children escaped injury. The buggy was demolished and no bones were broken amid the dark conditions. This marked Athens first notable accident involving an automobile.
Prof B L Mariest of the State Normal School travels to Gainesville to deliver Lessons I have learned from Cranks before Brenau College faculty and students. Earnest is a popular lecturer and the talk has pleased many audiences statewide.
