In Nashville the sixteenth agricultural session is to open, with anticipation of a landmark gathering. The event features extensive participation from educators and a focus on progress in the field.
Mrs Mary Blair died at her home yesterday at 12 30 pm after a period of illness. She leaves several children including E P Stone Le May Blair B C Blair and Ford Blair. Funeral set for this afternoon at Oconee Street Methodist Church with pallbearers named W Vers Lat Shape Elates R T Wright Wherry Rex and others to meet at 2 pm.
Athens voters backed W F Dorsey for mayor by 144 with Dorsey carrying all wards except one and tying in the first ward. Alderman races favored Weatherford Woods Whitehead Lipscomb Rowe. final counts show Rowe prevailing in the fourth ward by 195 and Lipscomb ahead in the third ward by 96.
Residents asked to send celery and boiled chickens to the designated addresses for the luncheon honoring the society of Collegiate alumni. Promised contributions are to be delivered to Miles Mary Hamilton on Avenue this morning before noon. Remaining items will be sent to the Elks Home in the Athenaeum building Friday by 9 AM.
