Chicago May 24 The lumber district strike has become general with most teamsters quitting work to force deliveries to boycott houses. Planing mills run short of lumber and some close. Building operations face serious interference and carpenters are discharged. Martial law looms as state troops could be called. Mayor Dunne Sheriff and Governor Deneen stand ready.
Funeral services for Mrs. M A Scurry were held yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at the Hancock avenue residence with Dr W H Young of the First Baptist church officiating. She died Tuesday morning and her remains were transported to Seneca, South Carolina for interment yesterday.
