Lawrenceville Secures Electric Power Contract 1914
Lawrenceville Georgia officials announce a new contract with North Georgia Electric and Power Company to supply power starting January 1, 1914. A line will run from Suwanee to Lawrenceville with generation at Tallulah Falls, offering 2300 volt current suitable for manufacturing and lighting. City expects annual savings of 1000 to 1400 dollars though consumers may pay about 10 cents per unit while the city pays 1.5 cents. The McCrary Company current will be superseded as new arrangements take effect and both firms are involved during the transition.
