Three Jackson County Men Bound Over in Assault on Veteran
Solicitor General John B. Gamble led a harrowing preliminary in which J H W Barret, Jesse Black, and J S Black, all white and under middle age, were bound over in 500 bond each for alleged attempted murder of Confederate veteran J H McIntyre near Talmo. The men reportedly attacked him with rocks knives shotgun and fists after a drinking session, then returned to finish the assault when Warrants were sworn out. They were jailed in Jefferson pending grand jury action at the coming term.

Salary System Unconstitutional Says Supreme Court
Special to the Banner. Atlanta May 14 The state supreme court ruled Fulton county salary system unconstitutional as special legislation since it targets one county though labeled a general law. Tax Collector A P Stewart Tax Receiver T M Armistead and Ordinary John R Wilkinson challenged its constitutionality. The decision reverses Fulton county officials to the fee compensation method.

M and W Plan Free Baseball Matinee for Stay-at-Home Friends

Convict Kills Fellow Worker at Manns Camp
At Manns camp near Gum Spring Oconee Heights on the GMAA a convict named Eugene Brown was stabbed to death by fellow convict Ozie Bush over water delays. Bish briefly held the knife, Brown pulled it from his body and handed it to another crew member. A coroner's jury found the death as stated. Bush remains in chains at the camp.
