The Betts family on Pulaski street faced a near tragedy when a fire started in the living room during a Sunday visit. A phone call interrupted a mother from leaving, stopping the blaze from engulfing her infant as the grate collapsed and embers scorched rug and coverlet.

City Council Sets Paving Plan and Public Works
