Washington reports confirm joint view of General Joffre and American staff that American forces must train in France before entering trenches. May through July expected to bring major action on the fronts, with French enthusiasm rising for U.S. help during critical months.
AP dispatch from Waim on April 30 reports that foreign traders have advised Brazilian treasurers that traces of trouble between German residents and Brazilians have disappeared. Many Brazilians born Germans pledge loyalty to the Brazilian government.

Garnett C. Arnold, six, of Satula avenue, died yesterday morning at his parents home. Funeral and burial will be today at the family cemetery in Jackson county, with services by Rev. J A Bell of West End church.
Washington April 30 By unant mou vote the senate passed a resolution to transfer title and possession of enemy ships in American ports to be used in commerce under the shipping board. Senator Knox urged immediate takeover to use as targets for German submarines. Over one hundred German ships in U S ports are being repaired and several are ready for sea.
University of Georgia students and Athens residents lined up for the officers reserve training camp at Fort McPherson. Commandant Gedista announced admissions fairness for seniors delaying graduation to serve. Numerous applicants from Athens and Atlanta submitted forms and endorsements as others were examined and accepted or declined.
Sunday meetings across Jackson County featured eight sessions by business leaders and expert agriculturists from State College. They spoke to large crowds about food production and conservation and pledged cooperation to "feed ourselves" during the war crisis.
The Great Greenwood Shows began a week's engagement on the carnival grounds opposite Sanford Field drawing a large crowd. The popular drink Chero Cola is featured and Mr Greenwood, a respected showman, is in town with what promises to be an improved lineup. The band marched the streets and thousands received souvenirs as crowds praised the performances.

Several members joined by letter after morning and evening services as crowds attend last night’s sermon. Tonight the topic is What Think Ye of Christ and all are invited.
Sammie Culberson was fined 30 dollars for intoxication and disorderly conduct before Judge Price. Albert Mobley paid 10.75 for drunkenness. Newt Griffeth H Hubbard Will Anderson and Louis Griffeth were fined 5 dollars for gambling. Heinz Dill Pickles sold at 20 cents a dozen. King Hodgson Co.
