TON RECEIPTS AT Athens will, when the present cotton season ends, be 75 000 bales less than last summer. Up to March 1 total marketing stood at 98 338 bales with 22 582 brought by wagon. Rail receipts underperformed, stock on hand is 20 475 bales. Last year Athens marketed 185 000 bales. the year before 105 000. Short crop and money shortage diverted thousands of bales to Augusta and other points.
