Pure white moose killed on Kenai Peninsula Alaska
A pure white moose was killed by trapper Ezra Higgins on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. The skin and head arrived in Seattle aboard the Northland from Cordova after secrecy about the animal’s fate. Thrinket Indians hold a myth that such albino moose embodies a maiden’s spirit, and the hunting of it may affect beliefs if more albinos remain unseen in the region.

Ten spined stickleback nests attach to water plants and mold into a muff like shape. Catfish nest in old stovepipes. In species showing parental care the male leads nest building guarding eggs and rearing young.
