Georgia Grand Master Rob ert L. Colding of Savannah and Deputy Grand Master N. H. Bullard of Brunswick will attend the Eighth District Masonic Convention in Athens on August 13 1913. The program lists officers, committees, and sessions including conferrals of degrees and lectures by Colding and Bullard with a barbecue lunch at 2:00 p.m. and evening degree work. New City Baseball League Forms With Promising Start
The Y M C A boys department organized the outdoor league yesterday, forming four teams with captains Hutchinson Hodgson Crane Wingfield and coaches Hutchins Rawson Bond O Farrell. The league opens at 3 30 p m on Herty Field with a four games a week schedule totaling eighteen games, officials include President Dr W W Brown manager Arthur Cox umpires Fred and James Costa scorer William Sizer reporters Van Straaten and Levy.

Clarke County Jury Revisors to Meet at Courthouse
On Monday morning Clarke county jury revisors will meet at the courthouse to decide whether to begin the 1913 revision of the lists or delay briefly. The 1910 census ranked Clarke county over 20,000 in population, justifying annual revision of grand and traverse juries. Last year’s lists grew slightly with new names. Last day to file naturalization papers in Athens likely Friday

Moore Located for Arrest in Athens Fraud Case
A Pinkert on detective agency agent tracked J. C. Moore, former New York insurance agent, to Athens to secure warrants for his arrest on alleged irregular and criminal transactions involving thousands of dollars taken from local citizens. Officials expect to requisition him from a foreign government, as he may be abroad, before Athens can bring him to trial.

A fire near Attica reported yesterday morning started when a bolt struck a tenant house on the Shackelford place and caused the building to burn. Lightning is becoming as common a cause for fires as defective flues or wiring, matches and rats.

New Firm Plans Public Hall In Holman Building
A New York firm to handle clothing has secured the corner store room on the ground floor of the Holman building at Lumpkin and Clayton. Mr Holman contracts occupy much of the building, with the top floor slated as a public hall or club room. The space will be furnished to meet demand, featuring elevator service, a kitchen, smoking and dressing rooms, and will serve for dances, receptions, entertainments, or small conventions in a central downtown location.

Lightning sets West Hancock avenue house ablaze in Athens
Yesterday morning a lightning strike at the home of Lewis and Sallie Cold at 1175 West Hancock Avenue caused a blaze damaging the house, with three occupants knocked down. A grown daughter was unconscious for three hours and suffered convulsions. Fire department, alerted from box forty six, extinguished the blaze quickly. The house suffered about twenty dollars in damage and power outages affected phones, lights, and motors citywide. The property is owned by Prince Hodgson. Other facilities like Athens Manufacturing Company and Southern Mutual Building reported equipment interruptions.

Built An Old Swimmin Hole For Their Own Delight
Local students at the University of Georgia diverted a branch west of Lumpkin street to create an improvised four foot deep pond near Baxter street. The makeshift pool, visible from streetcars, serves about forty boys for daily splashing away from the campus Alumni hall pool areas.

Local manager to take merited vacation in August

Mrs Haudrups Funeral Yesterday At First Methodist
The funeral for Mrs. Haudrup was held yesterday at 4 p.m. from the First Methodist church where she had belonged for sixty years. Pastor C. C. Jarrell led the service with other city Methodist pastors assisting in the rites. Rain fell as the procession moved to Oconee Cemetery for burial, the casket laid to rest as the sun set, with hopes of a brighter land tomorrow.
