Receiver Not Yet Named in Mutual Life Industrial case
Last night the court did not name a receiver for the Mutual Life Industrial Association of Georgia. Judge Charles H. Brand said the receiver, and his bond, were left blank until attorneys can agree on a suitable man. If they cannot agree, the judge will appoint someone. Miss Kellum Injured After Veil Causes Fall Near Winterville
On a trip between this city and Winterville Miss Kellum, riding with Mrs J B Toomer, was injured when a veil ripped loose in a stiff breeze. She stepped from the moving car, fell, and suffered a broken left jaw, a fractured right cheek, and a sprained wrist. Dr S S Smith treated her. condition not serious. James G Cook died after a several week illness of typhoid fever in Athens. Born in Oconee County in February 1853, he moved to Athens four years ago. Survived by wife Elinda Wise, eight children, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral at 3 pm from the Christian Church with burial in Oconee Cemetery. Pallbearers listed.
