Fines collected on streets total 12 337 20 dollars with expected rise to about 12 500, plus additional city and Superior Court penalties could push the total toward 18 000. The force’s fines nearly offset department expenses. next year figures should drop. One officer alone yielded over 12 00 0 dollars, another near 1000, and ten officers earned more than their salaries. In all, 269 state arrests were recorded, 78 from outside Clarke county.
