Aviator Beats Express Train in NYC to DC Race
An American airman and a sky flyer raced from New York City to Washington. Substitute tax revision measure passes Georgia Senate
Atlanta Aug 11 The Anderson Miller substitute in the senate to the Sheppard substitute on the Lipscomb tax revision bill passed the senate 29 to 11. Miller argued two hours winning votes while DuBose opposed centralization of power and questioned the substitute’s provisions. The bill creates a state tax commissioner at 2500 with a 1500 assistant and a 1000 stenographer, organizes county boards of three with a tax agent to uncover omissions. It is expected the measure will be killed in the house.
