Pheasant hunting schedule set for Eastern Oregon district
The Oregon Game Commission fixed Wednesday and Saturday pheasant hunting days for Eastern Oregon, opening on Saturdays and Sundays and continuing Wednesdays and Sundays in October. Mrs. Etta Swaggart Wheeler died at the family home in Pendleton Sunday evening aged about sixty. Survived by husband Carl S Wheeler and siblings George Swaggart of Pendleton Ben Swaggart of Lexington Alice Keith of Santa Cruz Lincoln Swaggart of Portland and Milton Swaggart of Baker Oregon.

Preacher and Hunter Save fawn in Wenaha River drama
The Rev. Robert Brumblay and J. J. Keyes, returning from a ten day trip on the Wenaha River, shot two coyotes attacking a mother deer and two fawns. The mother deer fled, one fawn followed Keyes to camp, then the hunters returned the fawn to the scene with its parent after feeding the animal.

Public lands open to all as ex-service plots close
