Italian Bandit Suspect in Orpheum and Home Trust Robberies
Local authorities connect a Kansas City Home Trust Co robbery and a theater heist to the same gang. Tony Bonello, linked to the Home Trust raid and in New York, may be one of the men who forced Herbert Welch and two young women at the Orpheum to lie on the floor while the room was looted. Matt Hays, opposite, is said to have covered the operator as the theft occurred. An AP report notes Hays was returned from Seminole Oklahoma for possible involvement.
