Glendora Citizens Welcome Arcadia Balloon Troops

A Glendora reception committee hosted 110 to 125 soldiers from the Arcadia Balloon School Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. Monrovia sent an escort via Foothill boulevard. locals supplied orangeade lemonade and wafers from multiple packing houses. The event featured brief welcomes, cheers, and a boxing show at the Y M C A hut with plans for an outdoor raised boxing ring near the Y M C A building.

Man claiming U S army service held for disturbing peace

Monday afternoon at Arcadia balloon school a man who gave the name Ralph EB Tingley and said he belonged to the reclamation service of the U S army was arrested for disturbing the peace. After removal from Camp Kearney, he was sent to Monrovia jail and later turned over to federal authorities in Los Angeles.

Pacific Electric Starts Pasadena to Balloon Station Service

The Pacific Electric begins service between Pasadena and the balloon station. The first car ran Wednesday morning and a complete running schedule is announced as a permanent feature. Through cars travel via East Colorado street to La Mancha Park, south on the Sierra Madre line to San Marino, then Monrovia line to the camp. All through cars depart from Colorado street and Fair Oaks avenue. Each round trip is 40 minutes.

YMCA Athletic Aid In Liberia Camp If By Coles
