Gierlich Rides Goat at Pasadena Elk Event

City engineer H. Gierlich staged a strenuous goat riding at Pasadena Tuesday on a goat owned by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Witnesses from Monrovia and Arcadia observed the unusual stunt during a new member ceremony.

Monrovia Canyon Hazers Fined in Pasadena Court

Twelve Throop College students pleaded guilty to hazing the rival Albert Van Etten in Monrovia Canyon on June 25. Judge Robert W. McDonald fined each $35 with half due by August 31 and the rest by September 30. He warned hazing is un-American and must stop.
